It is imperative to have reference times in order to make safe decisions while on the move.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sixty-seven percent of rescues on Aneto occur on the way back down<\/strong>. Remember that it is a very long activity, with a steep gradient over mountainous terrain. Tiredness that builds up over the course of the day can severely impact your pace on the descent; it is normal for it to be as difficult to go down as it was to go up.<\/p>\n<p>Bear in mind <strong>intermediate times<\/strong> which will allow you to gain a better overview of how fast the group is going.
